Why I Believe We Are In The 70th Week of Daniel

The reason I hold the position that we are in the 70th week of Daniel is because of several things I've come across in my Bible studies. When put together, they reveal some amazing "coincidences" and I don't really believe in coincidence. I believe God guides. I'll touch on each point here and you can go to the links for more information. Please don't jump to conclusions or make up your mind until you've looked at all the evidence. 14,000 days

What's significant about this is that the first instance we have of this exact time period is straight from the Bible. It marks the exact time from when Israel left Mt. Sinai until they crossed into the Promised Land through the River Jordan. If you'll recall, God said the generation over 20 years of age could not enter the promised land because of their lack of faith in God's provision.

There are two other instances in history that have this exact time period. The first fulfills the prophecy Christ made at the triumphal entry noted in Luke 19:41-44. It was exactly 14,000 days later on August 5, 70 AD that the adults and the now grown children that they were carrying at the triumphal entry were laid to the ground when Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed by the Roman army.

The final instance mirrors the first in that Israel didn't accept God's provision, rather relying on their own abilities. This was on June 7, 1967 when Israel took back Jerusalem and the Temple Mount in the Six-Day-War. On the very day they took the Temple Mount, out of fear of the surrounding Muslim nations, they gave over control to the Muslims and it has been under their control ever since. There is no way Israel should have won the Six-Day-War, God won it for them and gave them back the Temple Mount, but they rejected it out of fear. Exactly 14,000 days later was October 5, 2005, or Rosh Hashanah, which brings us to the next piece of evidence.

Now besides the amazing "coincidence" that Rosh Hashanah, 2005 would be exactly 14,000 days, one "power" generation, from when Israel rejected God's provision, there's the fact that Rosh Hashanah marks the Jewish new year. And what better time to start the last seven years of God dealing with Israel as a nation than on the new year?!! It is also called the feast of trumpets. It is supposed to be an awakening blast. This would fit with waking Israel up for the final seven years. This may not happen overnight, but I think it's evident that attitudes are slowly changing both in Israel and in the Christian communities who are paying attention and watching. But what is most amazing of all is what coincided with Rosh Hashanah from the Bible!

Revelation 12:1
 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

"Wonder" is also interpreted as sign. Believe it or not, there was a sign in the heavens on the very day of Rosh Hashanah, and it looked something like this:

Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge.

Exact day prophecies from Daniel and Revelation

As if that detail isn't enough, God provided even greater detail to build on what I've already presented. It came through His servants the prophets Daniel and John. Both of these prophets gave prophecies whose length was relayed in exact days/months/years. Understanding the nature of the prophetic year, 360 days, we know exact numbers of days between end-time events! I laid them out in a chart to help put it together better. This chart and the rest of them (there are several) can be viewed here.

When combining the start date of October 5, 2005 to the framework given in the exact day prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, we get the following timeline. Note that I am not predicting the day or hour of Christ's coming, but rather assembling the literal prophecies from the Bible which created a framework of days between events. Because of the 14,000 days "coincidence," I plugged that into the model created from the exact day prophecies and got the resulting dates. Amos 3:7

So, given these details gleaned from scripture and factual data, it would appear that the 70th week is based completely on God's timing and was pre-planned when the universe was created such that everything would converge on this one point in time to point to the beginning of the 70th week. I believe this is clearly God's fingerprint on events. But how does this fit with Daniel 9:27?

Daniel 9:27
 And he [antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The "he" in this verse refers to the antichrist from verse 26. (more in my 70 Weeks of Daniel Bible study) There is nothing that states this is the 70th week. It's an assumption made based on a missing week of years that is not accounted for except for the antichrist's covenant. So the real question is, given the information above, does the 70th week of Daniel start on God's timing or Satan's timing? Are these two dates independent of each other? I believe they are, and I believe they still agree 100% with the Bible. Here's a chart I made to help visualize this:

So what does this mean? I believe the ENP beginning January 1, 2007 would be the first seal, the white horse and rider who is given a crown and goes forth to conquer. Daniel 8:25 speaks of the antichrist destroying by peace. All the leaders of the nations are calling for peace and security and there will be one who seemingly provides it. I believe this peace will come first, because Ezekiel 38 states that the attack will come when Israel dwells safely in the land. Now the news which I feel may be leading up to the Gog/Magog invasion attempt. There is much more news which I've put in one page here if you would like to look through it.

There's much more than this. I could see good reason for a pre-emptive attack by Israel against Syria. The Bible talks about Damascus being made a ruinous heap. Isaiah 17 However, Damascus is one of the longest constantly inhabited cities in history. It has never been destroyed. Damascus houses some of the highest leaders on the Israeli hit-list who are currently planning their next move against Israel. If Israel senses this and strikes, Syria has a defense agreement with Iran that would bring them against Israel like hooks in the jaws. Russia has clearly made ties with Iran and many Russian missiles were found exploded in this last barrage. Both Russia and Turkey are currently planning on placing "peacekeeping" troops in Southern Lebanon on the Northern border of Israel. This is not far from Jerusalem. With all the weapons cache bunkers in Southern Lebanon, even "peacekeeping" troops can grab a gun. Israel is asking for Turkish troops and Ezekiel 38,39 names Turkey, Russia, and Iran (Persia), along with others who will attack Israel. I think the alliances are clearly already there and now the troops that we may soon see decimated on the mountains of Israel are being planned for Southern Lebanon. This means that all this could happen before the year is out, which would fit perfectly with the EU's plan for the seven year covenant with Israel to begin January 1, 2007. It has a mid-term review (3 1/2 years for those who know prophecy). The Bible says that when these forces are wiped out with fire and brimstone from heaven in the mountains of Israel, that the world will know the God of Israel is who He says He is. Perhaps that is how Israel is allowed to cohabitate on the Temple Mount with the Muslims, fulfilling Revelation 11:1,2. This would mean the rebuilding of the Jewish temple, without the outer court. This is the very temple that the antichrist will declare himself God in soon after. And when he does, the final 1290 days begin. After 30 days, God's wrath will be poured out in seven successive trumpet judgments and then seven bowls, each signifying an event of great disaster on the earth. But for those in Christ, we are not appointed to God's wrath. They are watching for His return with oil in their lamps (Holy Spirit). They are removed from the earth in the harpazo before God's wrath is poured out. These things are all written about in the Bible for those who believe because we are no longer His servants but His friends, John 15:12-15 and He tells His friends what He will do.   • Jubilee Year
    This law is ascribed to the legislation on Mount Sinai Leviticus 25:1-9. It was to come into force after the Israelites should be in possession of Canaan, Israel. "When you come into the land which I give you." The 50th year, i.e., that following the last year of seven Sabbatical cycles, is the jubilee; during it the land regulations of the Sabbatical year are to be observed, as is also the commandment "You shall return every man unto his possession" Leviticus 25:10, indicating the compulsory restoration of hereditary properties (except houses of laymen located in walled cities) to the original owners or their legal heirs, and the emancipation of all Hebrew indentured servants whose term of six years is unexpired or who refuse to leave their masters when such term of service has expired Genesis 18:6. The regulations of the Sabbatical year include also the annulment of all monetary obligations between Israelites, the creditor being legally barred from making any attempt to collect his debt (Deut. xv. 1 et seq.). The law for the jubilee year has not this provision. It is to be recognized on the 10th day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement (Yom Kippur) Leviticus 25:9 The actual anniversary is marked from the point when Israel crossed the River Jordan into the Promised Land. As shown below, this was in April of 1422 BC, which means the 70th jubilee year from the crossing of the River Jordan is April 6, 2009. My studies combining the exact day prophecies of Daniel and John as well as the 14,000 days and Rosh Hashanah 2005, place the abomination of desolation on February 16, 2009 and therefore the harpazo sometime before the middle of March. 

[What better time for the harpazo timing, when our freedom comes as we receive our immortal bodies and meet the Lord in the clouds?]

  • Joshua's Seventieth Jubilee by John P. Pratt (May 18, 2006)
    The date of that event is precisely given in scripture using their calendar at that time: it was the 10th day of the first month (later called Nisan), forty years after the Exodus from Egypt (Joshua 4:19; 5:6). On that very day, the Lord commanded them to circumcise all of their males who had been born in the wilderness (Joshua 5:2). On the Hebrew calendar, that day 10 Nisan (Consecration) is one of two days each year which is especially appropriate for making a covenant with God, the other being the Day of Atonement. Correlating that day to our calendar implies that Joshua passed over Jordan on Mon 12 Apr 1422 BC.[1] An extremely impressive anniversary of that date is approaching. Mon 6 Apr 2009 will mark exactly seventy jubilees on the (Perpetual) Hebrew Calendar since that date.[2] The year of the jubilee has been lost to modern Hebrews, but the results of my research indicate that the jubilee year occurred in that very year of entering the Promised Land. The Lord told Moses to begin counting sabbath years and the jubilee cycle when they entered the promised land (Lev. 25), which suggests beginning the count immediately at that time.[3] The jubilee is the fiftieth year after the cycle begins, but the cycle only has seven sets of seven years, or 49 years. Thus, the 50th year of the cycle is the same as the first year of the cycle.[4] That and several other events indicate that they indeed entered the promised land in a jubilee year.[5] The year 2009 marks 70 sets of 49-year jubilee cycles since 1422 BC.[6]
  • Watch for the 70th week of Daniel Another perspective to research
    The mathematics of Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy is quite unique. When counting off the first 69 weeks, regardless of whether you use lunar or solar years, you will remain in synchronization with the sabbatical cycles. This is because the difference between the two counts is exactly 7 years. This is explained in the web page The Keys of Daniel. Once the Holy Spirit helped me to see this, I realized the math was highlighting the sabbatical cycle. It then seemed reasonable to assume that the first 69 weeks identify and mark the sabbatical cycle. Therefore, by following the cycle forward that began in 444 BC, it turns out that the year 2000 is a sabbatical year. The next sabbatical year will be 2007. As explained in The Keys of Daniel, the 70th week should end on a Jubilee year. We don't know the Jubilee cycle but it can only occur on the year after a particular sabbatical year. So assuming we have identified the correct sabbatical cycle, then the possibility for the start of the 70th week can be narrowed to once in 7 years. The next opportunity is the year 2008, the year after the next Sabbath year. The calculations for this possibility are shown in the following chart.
