Why should I care about Bible prophecy? Haven't soothsayers been
warning of the end with no end in sight? It is my desire to present
the information that has led me to believe that Bible prophecy is
not only important to understand, but that you can see it coming to
pass if you are looking. You are not going to find much of
the news relevant to Bible prophecy on your local news channel or in
the mainstream media, they've removed God from their world-view.
That doesn't mean that relevant news isn't reported, it's just that
it is not presented in light of a Biblical worldview, which can
drain the significance from much of it away.
This page is an introduction to both this website and Bible
prophecy in general. I'm putting it together to bring some of the
concepts and ideas spread throughout this website into one place
because I realize that there is much buried within this website that
may be relevant yet not found and if someone is new to Bible
prophecy, they may not know what to look for. The over-arching goal
is to introduce the background of information that has led me to
some of the conclusions I have arrived at regarding the end times
and our current time related to them. There are several things I
want to be clear about from the beginning.
Revelation 19:10
...worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of
prophecy.
More important than knowing the future or understanding Bible
prophecy is knowing Yeshua in a personal way. Only when you know Him
will you really comprehend prophecy because it is written of Him.
How can we have a personal relationship when He is not present
bodily? First we must recognize who He is and what He did. Yeshua is
God and He is the Word of God.
John 1 When Yeshua lived on this
earth, it was a perfect life without sin, only possibly by a holy
God. Being blameless, only He was able to take the burden of sin
from all humanity through all time onto Himself so that when He died
on the cross, the wages of sin, death, would be set upon Him. The
only way He will take our sins is if we accept His sacrifice and
give our burden of them to Him. When we do that, He sends His spirit
to guide us in His Word and bring to remembrance all those things
that God has told us to guide us to a better understanding of Him.
For a better understanding of the spirit realm and how it is a part
of our lives, read
Thought:
Voice of the Spirit Realm. Our personal relationship with Yeshua
is central not only to our understanding of His plans, but to our
eternal salvation and Bible prophecy focuses on Him, the Word of
God. So this is the foundation I use to understand God, my place in
His plans and what those plans are.
When Yeshua walked the Earth
to die for our sins, He fulfilled hundreds of Old Testament
prophecies yet many were left unfulfilled in both the Old and New
Testament. This website focuses on the fulfilled and unfulfilled
prophecies to better understand God's plans for humanity and also
our place in those plans. I make no claim of full
knowledge or that I'm right about everything. I have simply
studied the Bible
taking God at His Word to try and understand God's design. For this
reason, everything presented on this website should be examined with
personal research into the Bible and prayer in doing so to see if
these things are so.
Acts 17:11 And if there are errors
in the conclusions I have arrived at, it should not be taken as an
excuse to discredit the Bible. Throughout history people have
misinterpreted the Bible making prophetic statements that never came
to pass, but the Bible never changed and has never been wrong. There
are some who believe there are errors, but I encourage you to
examine some of those more thoroughly as well. The bottom line
is that in the end, the Bible will prove to be 100% accurate
even though some conclusions I arrive at from my study of it could
prove to be less than perfect. My goal is not to do the predicting
work of God, but to understand what He already wrote in His Word and
raise awareness of the signs of the times by watching and praying
for guidance. If I'm wrong on something or you find something that
is contrary to scripture,
please correct me.
So can we truly understand Bible prophecy? It is my belief that this
is why God put so much prophecy into scripture, for us to understand
and not be in darkness regarding His plans.
Matthew 24:36-39
But of that day and hour knoweth
no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father
only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the
coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days
that were before the flood they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the
flood came, and took them all away; so shall also
the coming of the Son of man be.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no
need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that
the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with
child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren,
are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a
thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the
children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and
be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that
be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the
day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and
for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed
us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and
edify one another, even as also ye do.
So this website is for the edification of those who believe, my
attempt to bring together the Biblical reasoning and evidence from
current events that leads me to conclude that we are indeed living
in the last days before the day of the Lord.
Which brings me to an
important point if you have never studied Bible prophecy before,
understanding
prophetic terminology. What exactly does the "day of the Lord"
mean according to the Bible? There are a list of terms that are not
part of every-day modern vocabulary yet should be as they are very
relevant to our near future. Modern culture has been led away from
Biblical vocabulary, even in much of the church today.
This speaks to
the importance of
watching. There's a mind-set in today's modern world that
everything will just continue on as it has through the generations
until the sun burns out or some cosmic disaster removes the
capability for the Earth to support life.
2 Peter 3:1-7 We're told these
times are possibly millions of years away so we focus on living our
lives, and for Christians, living our lives according to
God's ways
of love. Christian or not, much of today's generation is missing the
understanding of Bible prophecy, which states that time will not
continue on as it always has and that at some future point Yeshua
will come and life as we know it will end. How will it change? After
a short period of chaos where Satan is given complete control of the
world, he will be defeated and Yeshua will reign personally from
Jerusalem for one thousand years. This will be unlike any previous
time in history and when this time is over, this current heaven and
Earth will be destroyed to make way for a new heaven and new Earth
that will not be corrupted by sin. Here is where those who accept
Yeshua will live with Him for eternity. The choice to live with Him
for eternity (new heaven & earth) or to not (eternal separation in
hell) is a personal choice that nobody can make but you. The only
way to live with Yeshua is to accept His sacrifice made when He died on
the cross almost 2,000 years ago for your sins and mine. I pray this website helps
you to discover the Truth of God's Word in a more real and personal
way and build up your faith in God by seeing what He has already
done and what He has foretold will be done.
The
Watchman Bible Study
Guide is a page that brings together much of the contents of
this website by topic, examining everything from the time of great
tribulation to current events that will lead to that future time.
These are mostly pages of Bible studies by topic, with links to
other more factual data as well. This website is divided into three
main sections: Bible studies, topics and news. The Bible studies are
self-explanatory and focus mainly on Bible prophecy.
The various topics are focusing on exposing the facts surrounding
current events and Bible prophecy.
The Watchman
Newsletter is the result of my watching current events in light
of my study of Bible prophecy over the past few years. It is a more
updated newsletter of stories I feel are pointing to future
prophetic fulfillment. I will sometimes add my own commentary to the
news, which is e-mailed several times a month and archived both by
date and topic at the link above.
To help in bringing light to
history and current events, I have put together some
prophecy study resources in the form of recommended books, DVDs,
audio, online video and other things such as charts I put together
to visualize these things better. I don't necessarily endorse
everything posted here but there is sometimes information presented
that is factual and relevant. I try to address those issues along
with the presentations.
So what are my conclusions from the
research linked above? They are why I believe this page is needed
because they are of an immediate nature to those living today and
because of the nearness of the times and the seeming normal times in
which we live for many, the conclusions have the potential to be
dismissed without examining the reasoning behind them.
I am
working on a presentation of this information that I hope to have
done, God willing, to post online and walk through the history of
Israel connecting the nation's past with the re-emergence in modern
times and the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. I call this
HIStory, Our Future: Pearls for the Bride. It addresses
the reasoning from the Bible of the timing of the end.
At the same
time the various topics such as
Europe,
America,
Islam,
Israel and
Earth changes
(to name a few) are leading to a convergence with the timeline
presented from scripture. Is this timeline accurate? Time will tell
and we won't have to wait long to find out because if the
70th
week of Daniel truly did start on
Rosh Hashanah 2005, then we are about seven months away as of
the writing of this page from the beginning of the rule of Lucifer
through the man
of sin. We should know by this summer of 2008, possibly into
fall whether my understanding of the order of events leading to this
time is accurate with the Magog invasion of Israel attempt. See
Middle East Update: Interesting Summer?
Whether this timing is
accurate or not based on my study of Bible prophecy,
aided greatly
by many other diligent watchmen, remains to be seen. If it is,
then to God be all the glory for it is His Word and guidance that
has led me to this understanding. If I am wrong, then I will keep
watching in prayer for what will come to pass in whatever timing God
designed. It is my belief that we who love God are not left in
darkness and so the possibility of this timeline is not un-Biblical
as I still have no clue about the day or hour of Christ's coming.
However, I am not in darkness about the signs of the times and the
nearness of the season of His coming. I welcome you to join me in
watching and sharing with others the peace that comes from knowing
what capable hands you are held in by the Creator of this universe
and the lover of your soul.
