Pfizer Inc. (PFE) suspended sales of Bextra in the United States and the European Union at the request of the Food and Drug Administration and European regulators. The company said the FDA, in seeking its withdrawal, cited a risk of serious skin reactions to Bextra.

It showed the public favors protecting disabled people such as Schiavo from being denied food and water. Shawn Day / Aimee Herd reporting (Apr 4, 2005) - "To actually experience hunger, you know what it's like. You can imagine being cold, and it's bad. But it's not as bad as actually feeling it," says Emily Loberg (13) member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Salem, Oregon. "Actually feeling it," is what the youth group's annual "lock-out" is all about. This is the second year for the 24-hour event that helps to bring awareness of the hungry and homeless in the area.
