End As We Know It
Herb
Peters: FulfilledProphecy.com
(July
3, 2006) -
Ever since we heard the proposed
2010 completion date, we here at FP have watching with interest the
North American Union (NAU). The goal of the NAU is to eliminate trade
barriers between Mexico, the United States and Canada. In other words,
the NAU seeks to establish a free trade zone over the entire North
American Continent. Well, it looks like we here at FP have gained a
interested party. It turns out CNN's Lou Dobbs has also been taking
notice of the NAU. But, for Dobbs it's for a different reason. Anyone
watching American TV know Dobbs primary concern. His issue is the
need, as he sees it, for securing American's borders. And, many times
over Dobbs has expressed his frustration over the Bush
Administration's apparent reluctance to take action. Now, Dobbs thinks
he finally knows the reason -- the NAU. Dobbs believes Washington
isn't doing anything to seal America's borders because it has a
broader agenda -- an agenda Dobbs believes "will end the United States
as we know it"

Back Door Man 2
Herb
Peters: FulfilledProphecy.com
(July
2, 2006)
- In June of last year I
wrote a commentary titled, Back Door Man. Here is some of
what I posted: Some observers are
predicting an EU war. I think they're right. If you recall, even as
the news was coming out that the French had voted down the EU's new
constitution, the EU's High Representative was up declaring that his
foreign policy elements would continue

full commentary here. The following
month in July I wrote a follow-up titled,
He's Back!
Read it
here. Here again is some of what I
said: Now, members of the press are
surprised to find that, although the voters turned down the EU's new
constitution, it's most important components are being implemented
away. According to this report
Read about it here, these
components are: [listed at origin]
This brings us to today's news. According to this report, the EU
Commission has begun pushing for a removal of national vetos in area
of crime and justice and the creation of a so-called "Euro-Home
Office"
Read about it here . And, this bold
move comes directly following the astonishing news that a decision
was reached to place the combined criminal and military resources of
all 25 EU states at the disposal of Javier Solana
Read about it here. If you're from my
generation, you remember the Doors classic, Back Door Man.
Although the song's lyrics were clearly not about a person's
political activities, the basic message may apply. While the EU's
establishment confidently sit back and eat their dinners of pork and
beans, the back door man is busy eating more chicken than any of
them ever seen. He's the back door man.

Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Which Houses NORAD, is Raised to
"Bravo-Plus" Threat Level (July
3, 2006) -
Four Installations Across The Country Are Affected By
Order From U.S. Space Command. The Colorado
Air Force installation is one of four that have been affected by last
Thursday's heightened threat level, according to a report by KRDO
News-13. The command was issued by Acting-Commander of Air Force
Space Command, General Fred Klotz. The threat level is now at a
"Bravo-Plus," which is reportedly slightly higher than a medium level.
Although Air Force Space Command did not comment on why the threat
level was raised, it is most likely in response to recently escalating
anti-U.S. rhetoric, from North Korea. Meanwhile, according to an AP
report, President Bush and Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi,
warned North Korea against testing a long range missile, saying the
action would be "unacceptable." "There have been no briefings as to
what's on top of the missile, [and] he hasn't told anybody where the
missile's going," said the President, regarding Kim Jong II, the North
Korean leader. "He has an obligation, it seems like to me and to the
prime minister, that there be a full briefing to those of us who are
concerned about this issue as to what his intentions are."

Retired Iraqi General Gave Heart to Christ - Says Name of Jesus is
Praised in Saddam's Old Throne Room (July
2, 2006) -
Retired Iraqi General Georges Sada says record number
of Iraqi's are turning to Christ -- so says New York Times
bestselling author, Joel C. Rosenberg. In a recent article, Rosenberg
said: "Sada and I first met by phone in March when I interviewed him
for EPICENTER, the non-fiction book I'm writing about the
future of the Middle East. Intrigued by his remarkable personal story,
I invited him to come to Washington to share his experiences and
perspective with our congregation. It was an extraordinary evening."
Rosenberg also says Sada described in detail how Saddam moved
stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction to Syria in the summer of
2002, a story that is now being closely analyzed by the CIA, DIA and
Congressional intelligence committees. "He received an emotional
ovation when he described how he refused to execute U.S. and British
prisoners of war in 1991, despite direct orders by Qusay Hussein,
Saddam's son. That move led to his dismissal from the military in
February 1991, though -- thank God -- not to his own execution,"
Rosenberg writes. Rosenberg continues; "Just as moving were the
stories Sada shared about what God is doing in Iraq today. Such
stories are rarely told in the American press, though the Washington Times, to their credit, covered Sada's visit, and ran
an excellent front-page story on May 23, 2006. According to an article
in ASSIST News, Rosenberg adds: "Sada told me that some 5,000
Iraqis have publicly identified themselves as new followers of Christ
since Iraq was liberated, and that an estimated eight out of ten Iraqi
believers say they converted because Jesus appeared to them in dreams
or visions." Rosenberg writes that in a new and very positive
development, Nechirvan Barzani, the prime minister of Kurdistan
Regional Government in Irbil, has vowed to protect the ancient
Assyrian Christian community there as well as new believers from
persecution and violence. "I would rather see a Muslim become a
Christian than a radical Muslim," Barzani told them, an absolutely
remarkable statement by a Muslim leader in a land wracked by sectarian
violence. Rosenberg says that one of the things he found most
inspiring, was when Sada said that Saddam Hussein's throne room, in
his main palace in Baghdad, had been turned into an Evangelical
church, after the war.

Shakin' Up Southern Calif. — Earthquake Activity Increasing
(July
2, 2006) -
Since June 27, the area in and around
Salton City, CA has seen a dramatic increase in shakers. The following
list contains 87 quakes ONLY with the reference to Salton City
ranging in magnitude from 1.0 - 4.3. If you included quakes say, in
Westmorland or Joshua Tree or Ocotillo, to name a few, the list would
be considerably bigger. Most of these earthquakes are occurring on the
San Jacinto Fault. Much shorter than the San Andreas Fault, the San
Jacinto is west and somewhat parallel to it. more...

along the North Coast last week, with 10 earthquakes — three of them
magnitude 3.0 or larger — reported through Thursday. The largest
earthquakes occurred between 44 and 73 miles off the coast, two west
of Petrolia and another west of Ferndale. Temblors of 3.0 and 3.2
magnitude shook the Mendocino fault zone Wednesday and Thursday, with
a 3.2 magnitude earthquake between the Mendocino fault zone and the
seaward edge of the Cascadia subduction zone reported Sunday. In all,
10 earthquakes have been recorded locally in the past seven days, and
more than 300 have been reported statewide.

The Big One … Overdue!
(June 28, 2006) -
Video
of expected San Andreas shaking
15 MB
Experts have known for some time that
Southern California is overdue for a sizeable quake as tension
continues to build around the San Andreas fault line. Could this be
the year of the Big One? It has been 12 years since the last strong
earthquake struck California. On three separate occasions over the
past 35 years, significant release of tension along the San Andreas
fault has led to disruptive earthquakes in Southern California. In
1971, a temblor registering 6.6 on the Richter scale struck in the San
Fernando region. Eighteen years later, I happened to have arrived in
Pasadena the day a temblor rippled through San Francisco—Oct. 17,
1989. It was a fearful sight watching the images of roads and bridges
whipping in the air like so much spaghetti as the pent-up energy
released along the great San Andreas fault rippled across the Bay
area. Although that quake registered 7.1 on the scale, its epicenter
was in a sparsely populated area. Thankfully the damage was not too
substantial. The most destructive of the three occurred in the early
hours of the morning of Jan. 17, 1994. A earthquake registering 6.7
hit Northridge, Calif. It was the most damaging quake to strike the
U.S. since the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake. That 1994 quake is
rated one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history in terms of
total financial loss, comparable to Hurricane Andrew in 1992. more...

Freak NY Tornado Flips Truck on Highway
(June 28, 2006) -
Adrian Roman didn't know what hit him.
Driving west on the Thruway through Cheektowaga, Roman's
tractor-trailer was plucked off the pavement Friday afternoon and
tossed into the concrete median by a tornado. Nearby, on Walden
Avenue, two men were inside a construction trailer that was rolled
into the street. Two women were in a sport utility vehicle that
momentarily was tilted on its side, glass spraying from a broken
window. Roman, who suffered a minor arm injury, later was interviewed
in Erie County Medical Center by Trooper Lynette Menna of the State
Police barracks in Buffalo. "He didn't see it," Menna related. "He
thought something hit his back end." Weather forecasters didn't see it
coming, either. The National Weather Service in Buffalo was watching a
line of thunderstorms moving southeast from Toronto, across the
Niagara Peninsula and into Niagara County. A thunderstorm warning was
issued. more...

How Melting Glaciers Alter Earth's Surface, Spur Quakes, Volcanoes
(June 9, 2006) -
Imagine the surface of Earth as a giant
trampoline that accumulated a slab of ice over the winter, and you can
get a sense of what a growing number of scientists say is in store for
the planet as glaciers keep melting. Once the trampoline's ice turns
to water that drips over the edges in the warm days of spring, the
concave elastic slowly rebounds to its original flat shape. That's how
Earth responds as glaciers retreat, and the consequences promise to be
... interesting. The reason is that one cubic meter of ice weighs just
over a ton, and glaciers can be hundreds of meters thick. When they
melt and the water runs off, it is literally a weight off Earth's
crust. The crust and mantle therefore bounce back, immediately as well
as over thousands of years. That "isostatic rebound," according to
studies of prehistoric and recent earthquakes and volcanoes, can make
the planet's seismic plates slip catastrophically, and cause magma
chambers that feed volcanoes to act like bottles of shaken seltzer.
"It's unavoidable that glacial retreat will induce tectonic activity,"
says geoscientist Allen Glazner of the University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill. more...

Assad Steps Up Support For Palestinians (July
3, 2006) - Syrian President
says his country stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Palestinians amid
soldier crisis. DAMASCUS -
President Bashar al-Assad renewed Syria's support for the Palestinians
on Monday in the heat of a military escalation sparked by the capture
of an Israeli soldier by Palestinian militants. "Syria stands
shoulder-to-shoulder with the Palestinian people in their crisis and
faced with Israeli repression," Assad told the country's highest
political body, the state news agency SANA reported. "Israel's
aggressive stand and its unjust accusations against (Palestinian)
national forces serve to increase our commitment to Arab rights," he
said in a first reaction to the crisis triggered by the June 25
capture of the soldier. Chairing a meeting of the National Progressive
Front, Assad pointed to "Syria's efforts to support the Palestinian
people and bring about the success of the national dialogue between
the different Palestinian factions".

Israel Says No Negotiations On Soldier (July

Three
Palestinian militant groups that captured an Israeli soldier demanded
Monday that 1,500 Palestinian prisoners start being released in less
than 24 hours, implying that he would be killed, but Israel said it
would not negotiate. "There will be no negotiations to release
prisoners," the office of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in a
statement that held the Palestinians' ruling Hamas party responsible
for the safe return of Cpl. Gilad Shalit. Also, Israeli Defense
Minister Amir Peretz told Syria on Monday that he held it responsible
for the fate of a captured Israeli soldier. "We will know how to
strike those who are involved," Peretz said. Israel made good on its
promise to continue its military offensive until the soldier was
freed, firing artillery shells and missiles into the coastal strip and
massing troops and tanks along the Gaza-Israel border.

Hamas Threatens Attacks In Israel (July

The military wing of the governing Palestinian party, Hamas, has said
it will attack targets inside Israel if Israel does not end its Gaza

ordered his military to intensify its action there. Hours later
Israeli aircraft hit buildings in Gaza City, which the military said

to try to free a 19-year-old soldier captured a week ago. Palestinian
government buildings, bridges, a school, a university and a power

to intensify the strength of action by the army and security services,
to hunt down these terrorists, those who send them... and those who
harbour them," Mr Olmert was quoted by Reuters news agency as telling

Iran Purchased Long-Range Missiles From Russia (July
3, 2006) -
Russia over the weekend confirmed
reports that a number of years ago, Iran purchased long-range
missiles, in the Ukraine, capable of carrying non-conventional
warheads. The Russian statement released by Foreign Minister Sergey
Lavrov serves to strengthen concerns of Israeli experts monitoring the
Iranian nuclear enrichment program, who fear Tehran is working to
build a nuclear bomb as an option against Israel. The KH-55 long-range
missiles were sold to Iran and China through a Cypriot intermediary.
The missile has a 3,000 kilometer (1,800 mile) range, intended for
deployment by aerial bombers. Officials point out that it remains
uncertain as to the number of bombers still operational in Iran,
adding that most of the fleet was grounded due to a shortage of
replacement parts.

urgent humanitarian aid. Peretz also decided to allow 150 trucks
carrying staple foodstuff and medicine to pass through Karni every day

ordered to open a key gas depot to ease the severe fuel shortage in
the Gaza Strip since the Israeli army launched a broad ground

EU President Calls On Israel To Free Palestinian Officials
(July 2, 2006)
-
Israel should release
detained Palestinian officials and the Palestinian side should free
immediately an Israeli soldier, said Finnish Prime Minister Matti
Vanhanen on Saturday, whose country has just assumed the European
Union (EU)'s rotating presidency. In an interview with
Germany's Die Welt newspaper, Vanhanen urged the Palestinian
militants to immediately release the Israeli solider captured during a
predawn attack on an Israeli outpost near Gaza border on Sunday.
Israel retaliated by sending troops into the Gaza region, launching
airstrikes and arresting Palestinian officials. Vanhanen said Israel
must halt its military operations, free the Palestinian ministers and
members of parliament and stop destroying civilian infrastructure in
the Palestinian territories. He stressed that negotiation is the only
way to solve the problem.
Finland took over from
Austria the rotating presidency of the 25-member EU on Saturday.

Thousands In Indonesia Protest Israel Gaza Actions
(July 2, 2006)
-
Thousands of Indonesian Muslims rallied
in front of the heavily fortified U.S. embassy in Jakarta on Sunday,
condemning Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip. Members of
Indonesia's Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), chanted "Allahu Akbar"
(God is greatest), as they carried banners with pictures of Sheik
Ahmed Yassin, a Hamas leader killed by the Israelis in 2004, and
posters saying "Save Palestine." Hamas, whose charter calls for
Israel's destruction, now controls the Palestinian government.
Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation and has no
diplomatic relationship with Israel. Many in the country support the
Palestinian cause or are opposed to U.S. policies in the Middle East,
especially the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. After Palestinian gunmen,
some from the armed wing of Hamas, seized an Israeli officer in a
cross-border raid a week ago, Israeli troops and tanks entered the
southern part of Gaza to clamp down on the territory. The Indonesian
protest, which included many women in white Muslim dress and
headscarves accompanied by their children, was peaceful, but hundreds
of police were on hand to maintain order.

Ahmadinejad: Nuke Program Will Continue
(July 2, 2006)
-
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
said yesterday Tehran will continue its uranium enrichment programme
despite international calls to halt the sensitive project. "The
Iranian government and the people have decided, and without any doubt
with dignity and glory we will pass this phase," he was quoted as
saying from Gambia after explaining Iran's fuel cycle programme, which
has enriching uranium as its focus, to Ivory Coast President Laurent
Gbagbo. Ahmadinejad is in Gambia to address the African Union summit.
Tehran is under mounting pressure from the West to respond by next
week to an international offer that would defuse the nuclear standoff.
World powers gave Iran one more week on Thursday to provide a "clear
and substantive response" to an international proposal on suspending
uranium enrichment, but Tehran immediately rejected the deadline.
Foreign ministers of the G8 group of leading nations said European
Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Iran's head nuclear
negotiator Ali Larijani will meet on Wednesday to discuss the plan.
"We expect to hear a clear and substantive Iranian response to these
proposals at the planned meeting," the ministers said in a statement
from Moscow, where they were preparing a July 15-17 summit in Saint
Petersburg.

Threatens To Hit Damascus
(July 1, 2006)
-
Israel holds Khaled Mashal, the leader
of Hamas' Syrian branch, responsible for the abduction of two Israeli
soldiers and wants Syria to expel Palestinian leaders from the
country. Israel threatened to kill Hamas militants based in Damascus.
Al-Jazeera television said Public Security Minister Avi Dichter
claimed they knew the locations of HAMAS and Islamic Jihad leaders in
Syria and will not hesitate to kill them. Justice Minister Chaim Ramon
said, “The leader of Al Qaeda, Meshal is a terrorist of the worst
kind, and the international community must exert pressure on Syrian
President Bashar al-Assad to expel Meshal from Syria.” Ramon claimed
Meshaal gave the order for abduction and is now a target for
assassination. Syrian security forces said they tightened the security
measures to protect the HAMAS leader. Israeli army said yesterday they
carried out a low-altitude flight over the palace of Syrian President
Bashar Assad in Latakia, in northwestern Syria. Syrian sources
reported that they fired at two Israeli planes flying over Syrian air
space.

Israel Quiet On Second Kidnap Claim
(July 1, 2006)
-
A SECOND Israeli soldier has been
kidnapped and will be killed unless Israel ends its military offensive
in the Palestinian territories, the radical Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades
declared overnight. The armed group, loosely affiliated to Palestinian
president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah party, called for "the end of the
Israeli offensive," "the lifting of the blockade" in the territories,
and the "withdrawal (of Israeli troops) from the occupied zones in the
West Bank and Gaza", in a statement . "If our demands are not met, the
Al-Aqsa Brigades will kill the kidnapped soldier," the statement said,
without giving any details of the kidnapping. The soldier was seized
in the West Bank, the group said. They named him as Hoffmann Kfeir
Samuel, aged 24, a resident of Hulul, south of Tel Aviv. There was no
immediate Israeli response to the kidnapping claim. The group also
demanded the release of Hamas ministers and deputies seized by Israeli
forces following the earlier kidnapping of 19-year-old army corporal
Gilad Shalit, along with the release of "all the other detained
Palestinians".

Murderer Israel, Get out of Palestine, Chanted Thousands of Turks in
Istanbul Friday
(July 1, 2006)
-
Thousands of angry Turks burned an
Israeli flag Friday and chanted "Murderer Israel, Get out of
Palestine!" to protest Israel's offensive into the Gaza Strip.
Hundreds of women, wearing black chadors or covering their heads with
Islamic-style head scarves, carried Palestinian flags and banners
which read: "Israel is burning Palestine." Police said about 5,000
people participated in the protest outside Istanbul's Bayazid Mosque.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he has contacted Palestinian
authorities in an effort to help end the crisis over Israel's
offensive, which was launched following the kidnapping of an Israeli
soldier on Sunday. Turkey has friendly ties with both fellow Muslim
Palestinians and Israel. Israeli occupation terrorist air force has
struck more than 30 targets in Gaza - including the Palestinian
Interior Ministry - while thousands of Israeli soldiers backed by
tanks have taken up positions in the southern part of the strip.
