Because I believe the 70th week of Daniel began October 5, 2005, the seven years would be over before the 3½ years was completed. There are some other reasons I believe the 70th week is not the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), one of which is that the first 69 weeks of Daniel were fulfilled according to the prophetic 360-day calendar. However the ENP is on the current 365.22-day calendar and because of the precision of all the other Bible prophecy I've studied to date, I feel that the extra month takes away from that precision.

I have to admit that I myself question the timeline of February 16, 2009 because it seems impossible for so much to happen between now and then, it's less than a year! At the same time I'm watching world events and thinking there are some big changes on the horizon and the course of world events has changed quickly before in history. If we are truly in the end-times, the events that are coming are bigger and more earth-shaking than what has come to previous generations. I would like to give a little of my perspective based on my research as to what changes could be coming that will cause us to get from where we are today to February 16, 2009.

I think that we are seeing the end of sovereignty through the collapse of the global economy that will lead to a plan of salvation through a cashless society. The technology is already here to implement the mark of the beast, Revelation 13, with Somark's RFID tattoo ink that is currently in use on cattle. Furthermore, the RFID readers are popping up everywhere through the use of Pay Pass and other such credit card readers. It is the same technology used to get a unique identification number that will be stored in a database and accessed when buying or selling anywhere. A collapse of the global economy could provide a reason to implement this new system and also provide security against identity theft, terrorism and some of the other events I believe will begin to take place. I don't think this will be implemented until after February 16, 2009, but the wavering financial situation today expressed very well in the link above doesn't look recoverable at this time except a system like that is put into effect. No currency is needed to be printed and the technology is already present. All that would be needed are people who can tattoo, ink and people to ID. The various ID programs being implemented now will prepare the databases and infrastructure for the final implementation in my opinion. News on this topic.

On the nearer horizon there's the prospect of war in the Middle East. The alliances foretold 2,500 years ago by Ezekiel in chapters 38 and 39 are well formed today. However, there is another aspect as to how this will come about laid out in Isaiah 17 which describes the destruction of Damascus and the people of Syria leaving their cities "because of the children of Israel." Syria has a defense agreement with Iran who also has a defense agreement with Russia and Libya who are all exchanging arms, oil and money through these alliances. Turkey is losing ground with the West and beginning to turn back to its Islamic roots and with the temporary stalling of the Lisbon Treaty, its unlikely that they will become part of the European Union and they have also expressed their support of Syria. So all the characters are in place and after Israel's bombing of the nuclear reactor in Syria as well as the threats on Damascus if Hezbollah attacks, I can see this coming to a head in the near future. Israel is fighting for its very existence in a hostile environment and if the right series of events ignites the fuse, I fully expect the Gog/Magog attack to take place. This leads to the third temple. First I would like to point out that I've heard many stories that as with Solomon, there are those who are prefabricating the temple off-site for quick assembly when the time comes. Moreover, they are going to begin training the priests soon and have almost all the temple implements created. The only thing holding them back from rebuilding is Islam and their own secular leadership's fear of Islam. However, after God destroys the attackers at the Gog/Magog attack, I believe there will be a spiritual shift in Israel unlike we have seen to date. In Ezekiel 39:21,22 God says, "And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward." Radical Islam will have just been dealt a severe blow and Israel will have just seen the God of their fathers protect them. I would say after that it is a matter of a month or so before they take the initiative and rebuild the temple. And according to Revelation 11, they will leave the Dome of the Rock there and only build the inner court of the temple anyways, so it could be done very quickly. I think the fourth kingdom has been coming to the peak of power as America has declined over the past half-century. The history of America shows the control of the mystery of iniquity working in the shadows as spiritual wickedness does and must. There's a good series that delves into this a little here.

But Europe has taken the lead after WWII slowly and steadily and is only becoming readily apparent today as the economic issues see the Euro on the rise and the Dollar in decline. I believe that Europe is the revived Roman Empire of Bible prophecy and the fourth kingdom.

In Daniel's prophecies of the kingdoms of the earth from Nebuchadnezzar's dream, the feet and ten toes are comprised of the same iron the legs of the Roman Empire was, only this time there is clay mixed in taking some of its stability. In the Roman Empire, there was one head that was obeyed, but in today's Europe there are many heads (prophetically 10) and is therefore more fragmented even though it is powerful politically. After WWII, the steel and coal agreements began the process of business and financial integration of the nations and business has no borders today. It led over time to the development of a common currency that now unites the nations whose leadership is now pushing for a European Constitution through the Treaty of Lisbon.

America is slowly ceding sovereignty to international law in the name of peace and security both from terrorism and economically. When the fatal crash comes, I believe this will be what brings a global cashless society into being. This is being planned by some who take their orders from spiritual wickedness in high places, the mystery of iniquity that has been at work behind the scenes for a long time trying to bring their plans to fruition. However, God is always in control and until His timing with Israel is accomplished, the restrainer will prevent the revealing of the man of sin and the culmination of the New Age drive to bring about their one world religion focused on their New Age Christ, the man of sin. If the events of this summer do turn out as the news is leading and Bible prophecy foretells, I think we can expect the temple to be rebuilt before the end of 2008 and all the speculation and timelines that project decades or even years ahead will be dramatically altered due to the events that will come to pass.

I don't claim to be absolutely right on the HIStory, Our Future timeline. However I am continually amazed at the convergence of diverse timelines that all came together when I was studying many other watchmen's studies and as the dots began to be connected for me. To be honest I'm kind of in watch and wait mode. I expect this election may be the last American Presidential election of all time and whoever it is that will be elected, they will give their power to the beast in Europe just like the rest of the world when he comes with signs and lying wonders to deceive the world and God sends the strong delusion that people will believe the lie.

Well I know there's a lot of information there, but I hope it also sheds a little light on exactly why I hold the timing I do as of now. While on one hand it seems impossible to get from here to the abomination of desolation in February 2009, on the other hand events in the world are certainly pointing to that possibility.
